Our Journey, so far…

Our goal is to share the beauty of this incredible place with others and renew peoples’ love of nature.

How it all started…

We heard about this property with this giant house, a small house, an indoor pool, many out buildings, tons of farm equipment, a wood shop, a barn, a pasture, and about 20+ acres of woods. And guess what, it all needed some, well a lot of TLC. We saw a great and scary opportunity to create a new self-sustainable lifestyle and have a little fun making this property beautiful and functional.

We got access to the property in August 2020 and quickly started transforming both inside and outside of the house. We were not entirely new to home renovation, but we definitely had everything to learn about farming. We have made so much progress over the last 5 years, but we still have a long way to go. Every day we make a little more progress and are one step closer towards making this dream a reality.

First things first: Get ready to move in.

We made a BIG list. Literally. An unfolded cardboard box became our to-do list for each of the main projects: the farm, the big house and the little house. It was three feet wide and eight feet tall and has been hanging on our wall for five years. It was a long list. And it didn’t even include everything! Most of those original items have been checked off, but a few linger still.

Then learning, more learning, and trial and error

Once we got a handle on our to-do list, the biggest task was learning about lavender. We attended seminars and combed the internet for information and guidance. We amended the soil with lime, compost, and eventually crushed limestone. We planted test plants in the spring of 2022 and watched them grow and thrive. It was all very exciting!

Finally, time for harvesting!

In our second summer, our test plants were blooming! What a site to see! It’s tricky to determine exactly when you should begin to harvest the lavender. We watched closely and asked questions on the forums. When the flowers were just right, we cut and bundled thousands of stems, and hung them all to dry. So many beautiful bundles! That same summer we planted another 864 plants in a second section of our field.

Getting creative and making products!

When the lavender was dried, we began brainstorming on how to use it for products. Our first products were sachets. We made sachets to keep in your drawer and sachets to use in your dryer. Then we made some pretty bundles and bouquets. Our very first market ever was that fall. In the summer of 2023 we began to experiment with distilling the lavender, and in the summer of 2024 we distilled almost all the lavender from our second field and made our very own essential oil. This allowed us to expand our product line to include oil based items like cuticle oil and linen spray. This past summer we made even more oil and we are planning even more products for next year!

What Sets Us Apart

More than Just a Business

We love sharing what we’ve learned by educating our customers and the community, helping others grow healthy, thriving plants. When you (your plants) thrive, so do we.

Long-Term Relationships

We’re not just here for the now. We love creating lasting relationships with our customers and growing with them over time. Soon we hope to open our farm to visitors provide the opportunity to experience our lavender, and our goats and chickens in person!

Sustainability

Family-owned and operated, we cultivate and distill our own lavender on-site, without pesticides or herbicides, to produce sustainable products made entirely from our farm. Everything is harvested by hand and we use minimal plastic on our farm and in our packaging.
