Chicks!

Spring 2021 Our first adventure with farm animals started earlier this year when we started planning for baby chicks to arrive in May! First of all, they are freaking cute! Second of all, there is so much to learn and understand before taking on the responsibility of living animals. We read up on best practices, as much as we could prior to the arrival, but they are here now and we are doing our best! Lately, we have been trying really hard to get them socialized with humans and getting them accustomed to being picked up. Again, so cute! They grow so fast, changing literally everyday. We are trying to capture every stage of their growth and have an ongoing (almost) daily chick check on Instagram and Facebook. Definitely check it out!

The chicks will soon grow out of their brooder and go out into the chicken coop, eat all the bugs for us (YAY!) and lay eggs in a few months. We are looking forward to having our own eggs; farm eggs taste so much better than store bought eggs. Plus it’s our first step towards being more sustainable! I am sure you are wondering if we are planning on naming them and the answer is YES! We have decided on a theme, but are waiting for their personalities to show to help us name them! This experience has been so fun and we love having them around to keep us entertained!

Okay now here’s some pics!
